Maya Live Wallpapers - Privacy Policy
Last updated: 10 October 2026
Maya Live Wallpapers is an Android app from the makers of Maya (getmaya.online). "We" and "our" on this page mean that team. How to reach us is at the bottom.
The short version: the app has no accounts, and we do not collect, sell or share personal information ourselves. It downloads wallpapers from our server. It shows ads through Google AdMob, and Google collects some data to do that (see "Ads" below). A one-time purchase through Google Play removes the ads.
What the app does on your phone
- Shows a list of wallpapers and lets you download the ones you choose.
- Plays the wallpaper you picked behind your home screen.
- Shows ads inside the app (never on the wallpaper itself), unless you have removed them.
- Remembers your settings (which wallpaper is chosen, frame rate, battery and download options, and whether ads have been removed). These stay on your phone.
What goes to our server
When the app fetches the wallpaper list, a preview picture or a wallpaper file, it makes an ordinary web request to our server. Like any web server, ours records the request in its logs: the IP address it came from, the time, which file was asked for, and the app/Android version string your phone sends. We use these logs only to keep the service running and to stop abuse. They are kept for 14 days and then deleted automatically. We do not use them to identify you or to build a profile of you. All of these requests are encrypted (HTTPS).
The app does not send your name, email, contacts, photos or location to us, and it does not read them.
Ads (Google AdMob)
Unless ads have been removed, the app shows ads supplied by Google AdMob. To show and measure those ads, Google's software inside the app collects and sends to Google:
- your phone's advertising ID;
- your IP address, which also gives an approximate location;
- information about the phone and the app (model, Android version, language, app version);
- which ads were shown and which were tapped, and diagnostic information.
Google may use this to show ads that are personalised to you, where the law and your own choices allow it, and to prevent fraud. Google explains how it uses this data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and its privacy policy is at policies.google.com/privacy.
Your choices:
- In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland the app asks for your consent before it requests any ad, and you can change your answer at any time in the app under Settings, Ads, "Ad privacy choices".
- Everywhere, you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's own settings (Settings, Google, Ads on most phones). Deleting it turns personalised ads off for all apps.
- You can remove ads from this app altogether with the purchase described next. After that the app no longer asks Google for ads.
Purchases
"Remove ads" is a one-time purchase made through Google Play. Google handles the payment; we never see your card, bank or other payment details. The app only learns from Google Play whether the purchase was made, so that it can switch the ads off, and keeps that answer on your phone. Google Play remembers the purchase for your Google account, so it also applies after a reinstall or on another phone with the same account.
Permissions
INTERNET- to download the wallpaper list and the wallpapers, and to load ads.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE- to tell Wi-Fi from mobile data, for the "Download on Wi-Fi only" setting.- Added by Google's advertising software: the advertising ID
(
AD_ID) and Android's own ad services (ACCESS_ADSERVICES_AD_ID,ACCESS_ADSERVICES_ATTRIBUTION,ACCESS_ADSERVICES_TOPICS), plusWAKE_LOCKandFOREGROUND_SERVICEso that its background work can finish. - Added by Google Play's purchase software:
BILLING.
The app asks for no storage, camera, microphone, location or contacts access.
Files on your phone
Downloaded wallpapers are kept in the app's own private storage. You can delete them at any time in Settings inside the app, and uninstalling the app removes all of them. If we take a wallpaper out of the gallery, the app also removes its downloaded copy from your phone (unless it is the wallpaper you are using).
Third parties
The app contains Google's advertising software (Google AdMob, with Google's consent form) and Google Play's purchase software. It contains no analytics or tracking software of our own or from anyone else. It is distributed through Google Play, which has its own privacy policy for the store itself.
Deleting your data
There is no account, so there is nothing of yours stored with us to delete. Everything the app keeps is on your phone and goes when you clear the app's storage or uninstall it. For the data Google holds for ads and purchases, use your Google account's own controls at myaccount.google.com.
Children
The app is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date at the top.
